Deposit Summary
drilling in 2015 of a prominent aeromagnetic anomaly confirmed near surface graphite mineralisation, with strike length >1200m, width to ~400m in places, with best value for total graphitic carbon to 22.9%. resource 16.8Mt @ 7.4%TC.
Deposit Description
SIVIOUR, graphite deposit identified by Renascor Resources in 2015 during drill testing of a strong E-W trending electromagnetic anomaly to ~4km long, and interpreted as representing an extensive, flat-lying conductive zone. Drilling confirmed a strong correlation between high-grade coarse flake graphite, and conductive anomalies. The graphite is near surface, and appears to have the form of a thick, flat-lying body. Drilling has confirmed mineralisation over a stike length of >1.2km, with mineralisation extending N-S for ~400m, and open to the north, east, and west of drilling to date. Preliminary metallurgical testwork and petrology indicate a large proportion of flake-size graphite. Resource figure announced 17/3/2017 of 80.6Mtonne inferred + indicated @ 7.9% TGC for 6.4Mtonne contained graphite (Renascor Resources ASX, cut off 3%TGC).
A 2017 scoping study includes results of metallurgical testwork on 3 bulked samples from 16 diamond holes. Results indicate continuity of graphite quality. Flake size distribution for a weighted average graphite concentrate grade of 94%TCG was Jumbo 8%, large 25%, Medium 15%, Small 39% and Fine 13%.
Infill drilling of area of proposed pit in 2018 confirms continuity of the graphite mineralisation, with indications of continuity of graphite beds beyond the currently defined resource. Continuing estwork confirms proposed mineral processing parameters do produce high-grade concentrates.
