Deposit Summary
Deposit Description
MORGANS CREEK, multi-metallic skarn system associated with a mafic intrusion. Geochemical enrichments in copper, lithium, zinc and rare earth elements within dolomite unit adjacent to dolerite intrusion. Best interceptions of 23m @ 0.2% Cu from 23m depth, 15m at 0.16% Li2O (including 7m at 0.20% Li2O and 0.10% Zn) from near surface and 22m at 1,050 ppm TREO from 27m (including 10 metres 1,940ppm TREO from 35m) within weathered Yednalue Quartzite. Also anomalous scandium and vanadium reported within the dolerite with a best intercept of 132m at 56 ppm Sc2O5 and 493 ppm V2O5 from surface.
REE mineralisation is enriched in heavy rare earth oxides (~18% HREO) and permanent magnet rare earths neodymium and praseodymium (21% Nd-Pr). Uranium and thorium concentrations are low, averaging 4 ppm U and 15 ppm Th.
Preliminary test work indicates the weathered quartzite contains a large portion of readily soluble REEs, with an average of 85% TREO recovery from clays and an average of 72% TREO recovery from weathered lithologies.
